Tatio Geysers

The geothermal field of the Tatio Geysers is a fascinating, inhospitable place — but it sometimes gets a "bad reputation." Getting up before dawn with barely any sleep and facing sub-zero temperatures at over 4,200 meters of altitude may not sound appealing to everyone. That's why, at Atacama Trail, we do things differently: we go neither too early nor too late. We suggest the best times so the experience is perfect — when the sun is already with us and the weather becomes more pleasant, but the geysers are still putting on impressive activity. You'll enjoy one of the largest geothermal fields on the planet with fewer crowds around you and, to crown the morning, we'll share a truly unforgettable breakfast. But the adventure doesn't end there: the way back rewards us with some of the most beautiful scenes of the altiplano. We'll descend slowly through deep ravines and wetlands brimming with Andean life, with the unique chance to spot wildlife in its natural habitat.
